Project

Conservation International Emas National Park, located in the central high plains of Brazil, is site to important biodiversity and headwaters of three major river systems. As the landscape is currently threatened by surrounding large scale agriculture, Conservation International has partnered with NGO's and local municipalities and farming cooperatives to protect the parklands. In November 2002 Anne Phillips was invited to participate in a design charette to define guidelines for expanding park tourism by improving infrastructure and facilities, marketing strategies, community involvement, and on-site interpretive content.
