Renovation of existing duplex.

Design Approach

A fire prompted our clients to re-think their home, a 2nd floor unit in a duplex. A new open-concept living, dining and kitchen space oriented towards a view of the Oakland Hills is connected to the backyard with a new balcony and stairway. This private area of the home is clearly demarcated from an office area towards the front that allows the homeowners to invite clients and guests for their work.
